A Musical Evening

The guitars come out signaling the beginning of the musical evening. Two well known artists accompanied by another talented musician take their places. The guests find their way to the room. Some carrying their dinner plates, others their drinks. The excitement in the air is palpable. People mumbling, trying to get in the last few words of their conversation before the music begins, laughing, in good spirits. Young children run around the house, high on adrenalin and sugar, playing hide and seek, lost in their own imaginative, fun world.

As the artist tunes the guitar, its first sounds filter through the din setting the tone for what turns out to be a remarkable evening filled with beautiful, melodious music. Cameras click away as the singers churn out one hit after another, both old and new, reminding guests about the extraordinary power and beauty of music. Some sit there soaking in the voices, the harmony. Others request special numbers while few chime in with them thus creating a milieu of togetherness and cheer.

Out of the numerous parties we have organized, this was undoubtedly one of the better ones. It was a beautiful night with cooler weather and clear skies. A guest list of family and close friends, food and drinks galore, it was indeed a special party. A soiree to remember. A night we are recovering from. Even now albeit gratifyingly.
