The older sibling continues to be Superman- pretending to fly with his makeshift cape (a towel over his shoulders) rescuing the world and killing all the ‘bad’ guys. The younger one follows him in tow screaming “Fufuman, Fufuman”.

Went out for dinner with a couple friend of ours who recently became much deserved parents. They met us at this Burmese restaurant in downtown DC with their new bundle of joy (cute as a button). I made sure that the restaurant was family friendly and wouldn’t object to a terrorizing kid. It was and A lived up to my expectations….she was a handful! She refused to sit around, didn’t eat anything, took off her shoes, went around in circles all over the tiny restaurant, ran into the kitchen, played dangerously with the chopsticks, waved and smiled at fellow diners, had to be lured out of the restaurant for quick walks so some of us could eat. The food was delicious but of course we didn’t quite enjoy it. Thank you, my sweet little devil!

On our way home, we spotted a carnival off of the highway. D saw it and wanted to go. But since it was already past 10p, we decided to take him the next day. Well, we were late. The carnival wrapped up the night before and we only got to see remnants of it. It was heartening to see D dejected as he was working up his excitement since morning and had planned to get himself a few cotton candies before getting on the giant ferrous wheel. So to compensate, we ended up going to Chuck E Cheeses and promised him another trip to the fair this Saturday. Both of them thoroughly enjoyed playing- D was super excited and tried out almost all the games. A, spent the entire time sliding, going on rides with Barney and just running around the place. She squealed when she saw the giant life sized mouse but dithered when I took her near him. She was content watching him from afar and calling out to him , 'Chaakee Seez', 'Chaakee Seez'. Best of all, it was not crowded and thank god for that!

Watched ‘Juno’. Yeah, finally. Gosh we are sooooo behind with movies. It was funny and Ellen Page did a good job. Tried putting the kids to bed before we started it but to no avail. After several failed attempts, they sat down with us on the couch. Half way through, A slept. D, however refused, despite numerous yawns and sleep laden eyes. He slept eventually at 12:30 am as the movie credits scrolled down the screen.
The first thing he said when he woke up the next morning at 9 am was,
Mama I liked the movie yesterday.
You did. Do you remember what it was about?
Yes, it was about June. And you know which part was funny?
No, tell me...
When she made a face.
A much helpful review from a 4 year old movie critic.
