Annaprasanna for A

It will be unfair if I do not mention anything about A’s Annaprasanna on this blog. It was on July 8th and was well attended. Little A looked cute in a Fab India dress sent by her aunt in Delhi and a customary gold necklace –a gift from her maternal grandparents, who arrived from India, just two days before the occasion. Her uncle, (E-Mama) drove in from Atlanta with his wife K, just to fulfill the important role of feeding his niece her first spoon of rice -delectable ‘payaas’ made lovingly by my MIL. She not only had one but several as almost every single family member took advantage of the opportunity to feed her. And of course, she happily ate what ever and how many ever times she was offered.

The location (the Tea Room, at Gambrill State Park) turned out to be quite decent. We were a little worried about the place being too hot and muggy. Although it was a hot day (though not as hot &humid as the days prior), the quaint cabin with its over sized balcony overlooking the city, was enjoyed by everyone who came.

The food was scrummy. Thanks to India Café. Everything tasted good with the right blend of masalas and spices. We did have a few families opt out at the last minute. But despite these cancellations, the ceremony went off well and the event was a success.

A is 9 months, going 10 now. Already!!!! She crawls all over the place, can lift herself up and of course is as delightful as ever. She is in her ‘mommy’ phase as of now. It is just amazing how her face lights up and breaks into a wide smile the minute she sees me. It is all about me and I can’t tell you how much I am ‘digging’ it. And I plan to revel in it as long as it lasts.

Alee-Ma, you are my star, you are my sunshine, Mama loves you, sweetie pie!
