Prunes and Potty

D, like many other toddlers has irregular bowel movements. There have been times in the past when he wouldn't potty for four straight days driving everyone around him crazy and worried. Both my hubby and I tried everything from apples to corn syrup but nothing seemed to work like prune juice. I was a little anxious whether he will take to drinking it because of its distinctive taste but he did. So for the last couple of weeks, prune juice is what he ends his day with. Half a cup, right before he brushes and goes to bed. And the results have been remarkable! Every morning, right after he eats his breakfast, he is ready to sit on the toilet and clean out his system. And what a 'cleanse' it is!

Just yesterday, this is what he said to me when I reminded him of his juice.
Mama, I drink prune juice, so I can potty.
When I potty, I can play basketball
When I potty, I can do shapes
When I potty, I can ride my cycle
And I can be Monsters Inc.!

Looks like we are not the only ones relieved and happy with the recent turn of events.
