One of my favorite songs

I watch American Idol. I am not necessarily a fan-will not fast if I miss one or a couple of episodes. I just enjoy watching the contestants sing and by golly, they can sing. At least, the last few standing!

Yesterday was the season finale. I hadn’t been following it the last couple of weeks, so wasn’t sure what to expect. I just knew that they were down to two and that it was results night. And just like previous finales, there will be some surprising celebrity performances.

Well, I am glad I caught the show as they had two of my all time favorites perform-Bryan Adams and George Michael. Apparently Bryan Adams has come up with a new album which is due in stores shortly, something I intend to buy regardless of the reviews. And George Michael is on a US tour after a break of 17 years.

What could be a better way to end a show of this nature with George Michael belting out one of his most successful songs – Praying for Time. And oh boy, did he sing. He sounded beautiful. It was soulful, mesmerizing and gave me goose bumps!

I loved the album, ‘Listen with Prejudice’. Every song on this album is a winner but this one in particular is haunting and stirs something in you. And last night, it again stirred some of the deepest emotions in me. George Michael, truly is a master of sorts-one of the most prolific singer- songwriters ever!
